We don't even know what to add to the Title. Toasted Vanilla and Chocolate Swirled Marshmallows sounds perfect to add to a graham cracker and chocolate bar to begin your camping weekend. Come enjoy one with us this Friday evening at 9pm.
Who could pass up something as cute as baby chicks? And who wouldn't want to eat something called "Marshmallow Treat Decorations?" These looked adorable so they will be added to our Friday Evening Bonfire free S'more. We figured instead of the typical marshmallow, we would try out these cuties.
Every Friday evening at 9pm we start a bonfire in our community bonfire pit in front of the swimming pool (between the camp store and the bathhouse). It's a chance to enjoy a bonfire you didn't have to work hard to start.
Each bonfire we will offer a free s'more to each guest. We are going to offer the traditional s'more of graham crackers, a chocolate bar, and a marshmallow each time. But we are also going to mix-it-up each week and offer a special treat for those brave souls. We were pleasantly surprised at the selection of marshmallows available at the store. And of course the substitutions available for the typical Hersey's chocolate bar are endless.
So on your next camping trip to Maple Ridge Campground, stop by the bonfire at 9pm on Friday evening and see what treat we have that night.
In honor of our Friday Evening Community Bonfire, I will be posting a new S'more idea each Friday. Most will come from a cute little book I just ordered entitled, "So Much S'More to Do" by Becky Rasmussen.
Today's S'more idea is called Chocolate Bar Substitutes. In addition to the marshmallows and graham crackers, why not try chocolate peanut butter cups instead of the usual chocolate bar? Or white chocolate bars. Other suggestions include dark chocolate bars, chocolate crunch bars, or your favorite candy bar. My top choice would be Kit-Kat. What substitutes have you tried?
