The April MRC newsletter is available for your reading pleasure. I will try to create a newsletter each month we are open to highlight some of the improvements made to the campground and some of the fun activites that took place as well. I was thinking of including a little section each month that talks about one of our kids. That would be more for me so I can look back years later and enjoy the memories. You can view the newsletter on the bottom left corner of the home page of our website.
Hope you filed your taxes on time. We officially opened Maple Ridge Campground today. The store was still being stocked but we were open for business. I was able to keep stocking the shelves while meeting two new monthly guests and a few seasonal campers who came by middle of the week to pay off their balance.
Jarrod was busy working on the bathhouse update. We added new bathroom vanities to both the men's and women's bathhouse. New primer and paint is next on the list for the bathhouse. We already hung the new shower curtains and added non-slip floor mats outside the shower stalls. Bet you didn't know owning a campground could be as glamerous as picking out and installing non-slip floor mats, huh? We also have plans to rearrange the layout inside the bathhouse to make the 3 changing areas bigger.
The Bunce family is mom and dad and 5 kids. As it worked out, we each have a birthday (1 a month) from April to October, the same months we are open for business. So we came up with the idea to have a birthday celebration at the campground each month. We will pick a weekend closest to the actual birthday to celebrate. Jaden (13) and mom learned from a family friend how to decorate cupcakes. So we will sing "Happy Birthday" and have free cupcakes once a month at Maple Ridge Campground.
We have a closing date of Monday, March 30, 2015 to purchase the campground. We get possession 7 days later, right after Easter. We couldn't be happier to get started on this next chapter of our lives.
The current owners have started the spring cleaning and setup. They are going to teach us how to open up the campground for the season. Luckily, they aren't moving far away and said they would be available to help make our new adventure less scary.
